Laurie Windover – Director e-Forensic Services Inc.
Mr. Laurie Windover brings 13 years of computer forensic experience to EFS e-Forensic Services. Past experience includes providing electronic search, seizure and analysis expertise to Police, Government and Corporate clients.
Professional background
A veteran of 26-years with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Laurie’s last post was as a Senior Investigator within the British Columbia RCMP Integrated Technological Crime Unit (VITCU), located in Greater Vancouver. In this capacity, Mr. Laurie Windover provided consultation and expert analysis to B.C. police and government agencies. Prior to being posted in the RCMP “E” Division VITCU, Laurie was a senior investigator posted within the RCMP Ottawa – Technological Crime Branch providing both domestic and international assistance within the Tech Crime field.
He is a past member of the Interpol Steering Committee on High Tech Crime, and Interpol America’s Working Group on High Tech Crime representing Canada in the field of Technological Crime investigations and providing a Canadian perspective in setting standards for international assistance between policing agencies. Mr. Windover has given Expert Witness testimony at the Provincial and Superior Court levels in both British Columbia and Ontario. He has lectured on computer search and seizure procedures and technical analysis of computer evidence at the Canadian Police College in Ottawa and is an EnCE Certified Examiner.
In 2007 Mr. Windover retired from the R.C.M.P. and joined one of Canada’s national Computer Forensics firms as Manager of Digital Forensics where he provided forensic consulting to Corporate, Government and Law Enforcement clients.
Colin Cree – Director e-Forensic Services Inc.
Mr. Colin Cree is one of only five Encase®-certified instructors in Canada. Colin’s expertise includes commercial crime investigations, computer crime investigations and analysis, providing expert witness testimony and ensuring the highest teaching and professional practice standards are maintained throughout the courses and investigations for which he is responsible.
Professional background
Mr. Colin Cree was a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 25 years. For 8 years of his policing career, Colin specialized in commercial crime investigations. His responsibilities included bankruptcy, securities and income tax crimes, corporate and business frauds, and organized white collar crime. He has been involved in computer forensics since 1997 and in 2001 he was assigned full time to the Commercial Crime Section’s High Tech Crime Unit. His duties included forensic examination of computers, investigating Internet and computer-related crime, including: counterfeit rings, fraud, computer hacking, telemarketing, child pornography and homicide.
In 2002, Mr. Cree was a founding member of the newly formed Vancouver Integrated Technological Crime Unit. His responsibilities as a technical examiner included providing assistance to investigators with seizure, imaging and analysis of computer storage media. He also investigated pure computer crime such as hacking and provided advice to investigative units on technical computer matters.
In June 2006 Colin retired from public service and became Manager of Digital Forensics and Training for a national computer forensics firm. Mr. Cree’s responsibilities included computer forensic consulting and providing advanced training to law enforcement and private sector clients. Mr. Cree played an essential role in the growth of the firm and became Director of Digital Forensics leading a team of consultants.
Mr. Cree has an extensive knowledge of computer forensic practices. He has taught advanced level courses and is both EnCE and GCFA certified.

In September 2009 Mr. Windover and Mr. Cree formed EFS e-Forensic Services Inc. with the belief that their combined training and experience placed them in a unique position to be able to provide premium level service with reasonable costs. e-Forensic Services operates out of the Vancouver region , offering services across Canada.
